It's About Time Yes, I need to get back to my Baby~Blog...po' thing has been neglected for almost a year now. I've had life changing incidents that are mostly to blame for the absence. I'm now a "proxy momma" to my 21 year old niece Leslie and it's been a challenge since August to say the least dealing and managing her many disabilities. We are now getting these things under control and moving forward in a positive way. My beloved husband became ill just a few weeks after Leslie was taken in to live with us. He fought a long brave fight for his life after a surgery that went horribly wrong with many complications after removing a 10 inch section of his small intestine. Two surgeries in two days, two days later a heart attack and then back on a ventilator. He survived longer then any doctor had expected and truthfully the hardest thing was seeing him in pain and suffering for a little more then two months. He was laid to rest on November the 1st, All Saints Day (my request) just after hurricane Sandy and we were fortunate and blessed to have the Military service he deserved. Thank you to my dear girlfriends for all their support through a most difficult time...I wouldn't have survived without them...especially Martha (SeekingForArt)who went above and beyond with her gentle but strong guidance and words that only can come from the heart....so many and more then I can mention here now for fear of omitting someone and hurting their feelings...you all know who you are and what it means "to be there" for a sister in need. Well, on with the ART already Dar...and as Husband Deogracias "Dickie" would say, quote, "Life goes on"....doing my best to make him proud. What seems ironic is my GF Martha told me my last post was on the exact same flowers I'm going to post this evening for the TIM HOLTZ Tattered Flower challenge...she said just post the old pictures and we laughed. I made this tag and dig the end results and got a kick out of how much the little green flowers reminded me of BRUSSELS-SPROUTS...I got the technique given to us from a talented gal named Jess on her show. New Art, catching up...

I'm posting a few of my latest projects. I have more but not enough time to take pix and format to upload...
I'm driving approximately 9 hours to visit girlfriend Mitzi this coming weekend. I look forward to having time together and so I made a few hostess gifts...I hate to go anywhere empty handed...old school manners momma taught me, LOL!

Next is another decorated box I'm posting for LINDY'S STAMP GANG.
I made the Cabbage Roses with the Tim Holtz die, some embossing, and loaded with awesome Lindy's sprays for a beautiful shimmer and shine as well as the I Am Roses mixed in amongst 'em. I added some awesome trims and a lil' vintage white birdie that has lots of worn and a shabby loved look.

Here are the Secret Sister Carol's gifties and handmade box. She has already received it so I can now post. She makes beautiful quilts and love to sew, so I took that theme with dress forms and ran with it...I had sooo much fun because I too love to sew.

saddened by this news I heard yesterday as I was waking up listing to the tv. I went on with my day and din't have it come to mind until I wanted to get new music on here. I picked some favs and feel her heavenly voice in perfect tune singing us a lullaby to comfort "our" souls. God Bless her and keep her.

Here are my two entries:
Angel Art Doll. An original hand sculpted air dry clay art doll head I made and painted. I deconstructed an old plastic doll and put this together with a hand made gown.
She sat and looked sad without her body and cloths, so I put this together on my live Ustream show (Saturdays at 6 pm est) on Christmas eve.

This is another original I made on a Ustream show of the lil' bottle brush trees altered into Angels.
The stacking wood band boxes are decorated and sprayed with LINDY'S Starburst sprays.

I so enjoyed this year of Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. I made a few like his the first few days and then realized I need to stretch my wings and do my own thing and enjoy being inspired.
